I placed my three completed hives in the beehouse.

I placed some real thin weatherstripping between each hive. About 3/16”

Since I only have three hives, I add two place holders.

The hives have about 1” overhang in the front.

I have aligned the hives how I want them. At this point I place a couple screws in the bottom of the hive securing it to the beehouse. Note that I only add screws near the back of the hive, just in case I need to move the hive with the bees inside.

There is a 1-1/2” overhang in the back for the 12x3 hives and about a 1/2” for the 10x3 Medles hive.

I’m using 5/8” fence board for the front trim. I did add some weatherstripping to the top trim where it sits on the hives.

The two side pieces of trim also get some weatherstripping where they rest against the hives.

Conclusion

I added a piece of foam to the two place holders to help seal them until I can get the next two hives built.
